Has everyone heard the Potter Puppet Pals musical that Merry linked to? Because if you haven't ... well, you should. Snape sings a love song, Ron wants to be a witch, and Dumbledore ... well, Dumbledore does what he does best. XD;;;

And, because one musical Harry Potter turn deserves another, here's the HP version of Once More, With Feeling. I haven't read it all yet, but it's cute so far. Beware canon 'shipping, though, with liberal doses of Harry/Draco and Snape/Lockhart (I think O_o). Also, Ginny and Tom Riddle do "What You Feel." Perfect.

Finally, to complete this collection of bizarre musical links: a new Strong Bad email, in which there is another song. And Strong Sad saying "I'm evil," as only Strong Sad can say it. XD

Sakamoto Maaya recently had a "Shounen Alice Unplugged" special in Japan, in which she talked and performed several songs live for radio. The live, acoustic versions are quite nice, with some beautiful violin work. Maayasakamoto.net has put up mp3s, but since the site has limited bandwith I've temporarly uploaded my favorite of the set, "Tune the Rainbow." Take a listen, for I <3 this singer muchly.

Happy Valentine's Day, all! (There's almost an hour left; I still have time!) I didn't do much Valentine-y stuff today, but I spent the day with loved ones -- isn't that the point, anyway? And besides, I got candy, flowers, *and* a massage, so I can hardly complain. :D

I did, however, buy a book of Spanish love poetry, which I suppose is in the spirit (though it wasn't so much because of the holiday, but rather I just saw it and couldn't resist :p). So, to tip my theoretical glass at the day of love (commercialized or no), here's my favorite from what I've read so far: Juana de Ibarbourou's "The Caress."

So Sam gave us fellow-hobbits boxes of Sweethearts for Valentine's Day, and the first one I pulled out said "IM ME." Of course, instead of seeing "IM me," I read it as "I'm me." And I thought, what is this personal (and vehement) assertion of identity doing in a box of candy? Is this like the existentialist's version of Valentine's? "I need no other force determining the course and meaning of my life -- damned be love, for this is just a commercial holiday intended to impose manufactured destinies upon us"?? ... And then I realized, no, it's just a heart made of sugar. XD;;;

Yeah, I'm sort of gone. But I've *earned* this dementia -- I finished two papers tonight. Count them. (One ... two!) Go me! XD XD XD

I warned you it would be girly. XD I had to do it, though; "Alkaloid" has latched onto me, and it was begging for a layout. (And this is quite within the spirit of the song, I promise -- read the lyrics if you don't believe me.) I suppose I could just pass it off as a Valentine's layout, though, seeing as the day is coming up. Even though I kind of forgot about it. ^_^;
