"Key ~ eternal tie ver. ~," Hamasaki Ayumi
Yeah, we had an earthquake yesterday. @_@ Since I'm down in southern Washington, though, we didn't feel it as much. Neechan and them up in Seattle did. Luckily, she and her roommate are okay, though.
It was actually somewhat amusing, down where I was. I was in Physics at the time, and when I felt the shaking I thought it was someone moving the desk -- but since I was shaking, too, I thought it was just someone hitting my chair. ^_^; Everyone was talking later about how they thought someone was just pushing them or, since we're studying waves, that people were doing something funky in the lab. >D But then my teacher said, very calmly, "Guys, we're experiencing an earthquake." And, being the human Richter scale, she also pinned it at somewhere between 6 and 7. ^_^;; Hanne apparently discovered a deep-seated fear of earthquakes she hadn't known about before and decided to seek Matt out for comfort. >D Sariah, on the other hand, had a grand old time. She was like, "Wow! I've never been in an earthquake before!!" >D
Happy belated birthday to NightMajik-san! ^o^
Neko-chan has experienced a YuuHaku music renaissance. >D The music is great, especially the group songs; I think Anayu-san was the one who once said that you could just hear the friendship between them when they sang. And that's so true. ^_^ But -- no "Wild Wind"?? Sacrilege! XD
Lili-chan and Neechan both have loverly new layouts. ^_^v Ren'ai also shared with me the ending of Ayashi no Ceres -- I've been sort of reading the manga vicariously through her. ^_^; It sounded good, and very dramatic, as expected of Watase-sensei. (However, I think I've figured out why I'm such a shounen fan in general. If shoujo is supposed to be a sort of wish-fulfillment, than it is apparently every Japanese high-school girl's dream to find an obsessively protective boyfriend(s) who will defend her against anything as minutely threatening as a mud puddle, as well as impregnate her before she's eighteen. O_o Go figure.)
Lilisin, I do have up to tape 4 of Weiß (as well as the Gluhen tour >D), but episode 16 is really shaky. And you are so obscenely lucky to be going to Japan ... *_* Ne ne, get me RuroKen doujinshi!! *desperate*
Hm, what else? I watched episode 32 of Recca no Honou last night. Seki-sama as the narcissistic girly-man. XD I remember when I first found out who he played. I saw "Seki Tomokazu" (in kanji, of course ^_^;) in the credits, and then looked at the role. "Moon ... White," I read. "Tsuki ... Shiro. Tsukishiro." And then, "X_x". That man has too much fun with his job, I tell you.

"Written in the Stars," Elton John & LeAnn Rimes
I was so grotesquely stressed last night. @_@ I thought I'd gotten most of my homework done Saturday before SNA, but then for no discernable reason, I spent forever doing my Physics. Then it seems that I forgot all the U.S. History I'd learned in the past four weeks and had to relearn it for today's test. O_O And then I kept thinking about how I had write my English paper, and do the book drive, and fill out my writing workshop application, when all I wanted to do was write my new Soapbox ... ^_^;
The test went all right, all things considered. We all agreed that our teacher made some questionable choices when it came to our IDs. World War I era, right? Yet she gave us things like Jose Marti, the Sixteenth Amendment, and dumbell tenements. ^_^;; Not the Nineteenth Amendment, Emilio Aguinaldo, or, say, the Treaty of Versailles ... Nope, instead she gave us the Boxer Rebellion. I thought this was a U.S. History class. O_o There was one -- count it -- one paragraph on it in our book. Considering this test covered over 120 pages of material ... One of my friends was talking about how he considered BSing it and saying something like, "Charles Boxer incited an upheaval when he introduced his new form of underwear ..." XD
Oh, and I found out that I have, like, three extra weeks to do the book drive. >D Score.
I really hope they don't shut Napster down within the next few weeks, because I've become such a junkie. >D In the past few days, I've downloaded "Ai no Renginjutsu," "Successful Mission," and "Breeze" by Hayashibara Megumi, "Alone" from Gensoumaden Saiyuki, "Once in a Lifetime," "By Now," "The Second Element," and "The Second Element II" by Sarah Brightman, "Itooshii Hito no Tame Ni" (slow version) by Satou Akemi, "Key ~ eternal tie ver. ~" by Hamasaki Ayumi, and now, "Written in the Stars." ^_^;;; Yah, people like me are the reason Napster's getting sued. :P

"Once In a Lifetime," Sarah Brightman
After a one-week break, SNA is back. ^_^ We just started up Jubei-chan, and it's friggin' hilarious. Okiayu-san, I love you. >D Then, of course, there's Ueda-sama as Bantaro ... ^___^ Saber Marionette J was good, too -- I can't get over how much I love Hanagata. >D It's not that I don't like Otaru and the marionettes, too -- but maybe I'm just going for the underdog. (I just can't see why people don't like him ... ^_~) What's up with Koyasu-sama playing ostentatiously gay characters, though? Hanagata, Aburatsubo ... (Aya ... XD)
And speaking of ostentatiously gay -- we were watching the "Feelings" music video by Kusoyaro Productions, and there were some scenes from Sanosuke and Saitou's second scuffle. Which struck me as rather funny, considering all the Saitou x Sano doujin I've been seeing lately ... H_H
The people running SNA are trying to raise money to acquire Dolby surround sound for our auditorium. They've got two jars to collect donations in -- the "girly" jar, with pictures from Fushigi Yuugi, Di Gi Charat, etc., and the "guys" jar, with pictures from Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin, Outlaw Star, etc. Whichever one gets the most money is going to be the kind of anime they show. And if the girls' jar wins, my male friend has been dared to wear a dress. XD

"Say Anything," X-Japan
Me duelen los hombros. @_@ Hicimos un video dificil hoy en la clase del aerobicos. No me gusta. X_x (Random regression to Spanish. Lilisin should be able to understand that; let's see if Ren'ai can dig back in her brain for her Spanish lessons. >D)
I've been busy lately. O_o I didn't blog yesterday because I actually didn't even get on the computer all day. Quite a shocker. >D But there's good news: I'm organizing a book drive for a local elementary school (I live in a rich white suburb, but this school actually has a lot of low-income students) in honor of Read Across America Day. See, Read Across America Day is March 2nd. I just started organizing this thing a few days ago. ^_^;; But I found out that the school is actually celebrating the concept of reading all month long -- meaning I've got three extra weeks to plan this thing! ^o^
Anyhoo ... Anyone watch the Grammy Awards? Not as entertaining as the Oscars or even the Emmys, but still fun. Big controversy over Eminem's nomination and the like -- frankly, I was more concerned with the women's outfits. I've got nothing against racy clothing (though I'd never wear it myself O_o), but there's got to be some taste involved in the process. Toni Braxton, Gloria Estefan, and Destiny's Child looked more like someone just ripped random pieces off their clothes. Faith Hill's outfit was a nice concept, but the way she pulled it off made it look like she just forgot to button her shirt. There's a fine line between sexy and slutty, people. Take a lesson from Britney Spears. XD Kidding ... Well, not really. And Elton John's suit was just painful. >_<
Ne, neechan, I've got to warn you: if Teresa doesn't come to Sakura Con with us, Mom will. O_o This is very hush-hush info, though, so don't tell that I spilled.
Argh ... I got online to do my homework, but I haven't done a thing. @_@ I've got a choice between browsing Ren'ai's eBay doujin links, or reading about the Tacoma Narrows Bridge ... Toughie. >P I'm intrigued by that American style X-Men doujin. But, really -- someone ought to tell these artists that there are certain aspects of Western style that they just don't want to emulate. Like, say, the anatomical representation of women. X_x Dude, boobs just don't GO that way.
And that SanoMeg one? Sekihara Tae has scans at the Akabeko ... I do like that Esca one -- Van-sama is DamnSexy, as per usual. >D And ... Spirits Dance has Azumi Tohru AND Fuji Shinichi?? *_* Score.

"Tooi Kono Machi De," Card Captor Sakura
My math teacher said today that he saw Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but didn't much like it because of the subtitles. Said he might have, but he spent his time reading the words instead of paying attention to the facial expressions, etc. He is obviously a subtitle virgin. >D Ren'ai and I have talked about how one learns to watch subbed anime. You speed-read the lines to get the gist of the dialogue, then switch your attention to the action on the screen while you digest the meaning. I guess this means I am a subtitle whore. XD
I think I've figured out why I haven't been able to write. It's because my life is boring. ^_^; I've been going through the same daily school-centric routine without anything to alleviate the monotony for the past several weeks, and therefore I've had nothing new to awaken my muse and inspire me to write.
And what am I doing about it? Not a damn thing. XD

07:59 p.m.
"Ai no Renginjutsu," Hayashibara Megumi
Ren'ai is right; this is a pretty song. ^_^
I went to Uwajimaya yesterday ... Temptation, thy name is the Kinokuniya CD section. O_o Escaflowne movie drama CD, Ayashi no Ceres soundtracks, Trigun Second Donuts Happy Pack, Utena and CCS ... I really don't need to get the soundtrack of every anime I like, but sometimes I just want to buy for the image on the CD cover. ^_^;;; I really did want to get Hamasaki Ayumi's "Duty," but my dad freaked at the price and refused. X_x What bites is that he'd've said no even if it were my own money. I wonder if they have j-pop CDs at Sakura Con ...
I also passed up Cowboy Bebop postcards (because I really don't need to buy postcards at $1 a pop ^_^;), Watase Yuu postcards (see above), Newtype (it had Cowgirl Ed on the cover, which was awesome, but that was about it), and Angel Sanctuary artbooks (I don't even know Angel Sanctuary; I just like the art XD). I did, however, get the latest Recca no Honou tankoubon (vol. 27). It's quite good -- more suspenseful, it seems, than vol. 26, although that could just be because I couldn't understand what was going on then. ^_^; (I should probably look for some translations ...) But it could also be because it had Mi-chan and Saicho AND Kurei. *_* Seeing as I haven't seen or read Recca in ages, I got all nostalgic and broke out my fansubs. >D
Ah, neko-chan, I feel for you. It really bites to be at the receiving end of hostile stupidity, ne?
And speaking of hostile stupidity ... I'm sure that this is in no way furthering mankind as a whole. Yes, it's a joke. There was something in the flippant tone that told me so, but I wasn't sure, because they in no way attempt to place a disclaimer anywhere on the site. According to them, however, anyone who can't figure that out -- and also find it hilariously funny -- is somehow intellectually atrophied. I suppose that's just what happens when one has faith in humanity and assumes that people say what they mean and wouldn't make a sick joke like this that plays on both sympathy for animals and a respect for cultural differences. My fault. But I don't need some mightier-than-thou MIT students with a warped sense of humor telling me what should be considered funny.
I'm always up for a good prank. But not one that exploits animal cruelty. And not from people this full of themselves and their level of intelligence. *sigh* Whatever.
How about something happier? I like the concept behind this blog, and even though I don't recognize all the bishounen, it's still quite amusing. XD
