"Primary Days," Sakamoto Maaya
"Presidenting is hard!"
How much do I love SNL? >D I'm so glad it's on Thursdays this month. Celebrity Jeopardy was rather disappointing last night, however. Sean Connery's trick with "Richard Nixon" was mildly amusing (he crossed out the "Ric" and "Nix" -_-;;), but it wasn't as funny as, say, "A Petit Du Jour." ^_^; I loved the Bush sketch as always, though. (See above quote. >D)
Rejoice! Mother Dearest said that I could go to Sakura Con! The mere thought of finding some doujinshi is making me drool ... >D
I'm having great fun with Napster, btw. (My user name is wing_girl, if you ever catch me online.) I've just about acquired enough Sakamoto Maaya songs to make another CD, too ... I do feel guilty about not buying her albums, but my Kinokuniya doesn't have any of them because they're somewhat old. (And I'm not really allowed to order online, either.) But her new album is coming out in March, and I'm hoping Kinokuniya will pick it up and I can get it then. Of course, there's no telling when that'll be ... It tends to take a while to ship stuff over from Japan. I just went last week and saw a "new" Hamasaki Ayumi CD that's ... not that new. ^_^; It's a few months old, actually. :p
Hm ... I do believe I'm finally done tweaking this layout. I kept editing graphics and colors and coding ... And to think, just as I finish, I'm planning another one. ^_^;;;
Oh, and I found out what that Shakespeare passage was from the last entry. It was (duh) from Romeo and Juliet (Act I, scene V). "O, she doth teaches the torches to burn bright! ... Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight!" etc. ^_^

"It's Gonna Rain!", Rurouni Kenshin
Wai! I'm so happy for you, Ruby! ^o^
My friend's boyfriend did the sweetest thing the other night. In an email to her, he copied down a Shakespeare passage (I believe from the play he's in) that was about a woman. I don't know which one it was, specifically, but it mentioned something about her being "the torch that lit up the night," or something to that effect; praise that cast the girl in a sublime light. And after that, he wrote, "I wonder if Shakespeare had a girlfriend?" *_*
And yes, it means that. He's not so dense as to write a loaded line like that without realizing it. ^_^;
<--wants a boyfriend ^_^;;;
*sigh* Where is everybody? Is there a reason no one's blogged since Tuesday?
I really want to write. Original, fic, poetry, anything -- I've even got a longish RuroKen fic vaguely outlined that I'd like to tackle. But everything I come up with feels hackneyed and empty, like I'm stagnating in a pool of angst. *languishes* He~elp ...

"Dive," Sakamoto Maaya
Damn. I just totally spoiled myself on the ending of Bebop. X_x And right after Ren'ai did, too ... *grumbles* I swear I cannot go through a single series without spoiling myself. O_o But ... there's nothing you can do. 'Cause love's such a joke ... like a little jack-in-the-box (you know). >D
I'm at Napster right now. Just downloaded the program. So I probably won't be doing anything productive on the computer now for ... at least three months. ^_^;
You know, I still need to register for Sakura Con if I wanna go this year ... I have, like, two months left. And either way the rates are gonna be butt-freakin' huge. @_@
Has anyone heard about some kind of RuroKen video/movie special? It supposedly caps off the the anime series, and includes animated images from the "Haru ni Sakura" sidestory. O_O I've seen a video special for sale recently, but all I deciphered with my limited kanji knowledge was that it was some sort of a recap of favorite moments from the series ... Can anyone tell me if the two are related at all?
Che. The Bebop spoiler thing is still bugging me. ~_~ I could probably be swearing a lot more right now ... but I'll censor myself. Like My Best Friend's Wedding -- anyone see the network broadcast this past weekend? In the scene where Rupert Everett arrives, they went, "He's just here for a couple of hours -- to, you know ..." and then cut straight to, "It takes a couple of hours." Definitely censored. ^_^;;;
Here's a cute bit of fun: Aoshi's Cold and Misao's Cooking. ^_^

"Flying Teapot," Cowboy Bebop
Ain't that the truth? ^_~
Okay, so that ... issue ... I mentioned earlier? (Ren'ai, you know the details.) Well, it's worse. >_< I don't want to be mean; he is my friend, but now his mere presence raises my nonexistent hackles. ~_~ Maybe I'm just being paranoid -- perhaps, in a desperation borne of my extended period of single-ness, I'm imagining things. But really, it feels like the Murphy's Law of romance ... Why is it I never get attention from where I want it?
Well, I shouldn't say never. Ah, I'm just being pessimistic again ...
On a more pleasant note, I'm glad Ren'ai got Coboy Bebop: Blue. I've heard Real Audio files of most of the tracks (see the link to Emily's page over on the left), and I love it. Well, it's Kanno Yoko; what would you expect? *worships* My only regret is that it doesn't have "Green Bird," the song that played during the last part of episode 5. *_* But I love "Flying Teapot," as well as the title track. And Ed's song is awesome -- rather reminiscent of "Neko no Kimochi" from Escaflowne (or perhaps "Cat's Delicacy").
Okay, so anyone here read Katherine's blog? One word: Ebichu. O_o Never try to tell me that Seki-sama is innocent again. X_x

"The Real Folk Blues," Cowboy Bebop
I watched eps. 19-22 of Bebop last night at Clark. Good stuff, as always. ^_^ I loved "Cowboy Funk" -- poor, poor Spike. *snrk* And I'm seeing a lot more of the whole Spike/Faye angle -- I really didn't before. The first clue was in "Ballad of Fallen Angels," with the obvious juxtaposition between Julia and Faye. But, like Ren'ai and I have discussed, it seems to be currently one-sided. Spike is still way too hung up on Julia -- although you can tell he acknowledges the possibility at times, like when Jet implies he's concerned about her. Especially in "Jupiter Jazz." Plus, he knows about her past, even if he doesn't act totally sympathetic. ^_^; As for Faye -- well, she yells at him and scolds him and runs to save him. And then there's "Cowboy Funk," with Andy ... >D
I think I got the quote from Ed wrong on the sidebar. It's "konnichi wa," not "sayonara," I think. (It's her little countdown to launching her scooter from "Mushroom Samba." ^_^;)
What else about last night's anime ...? We watched the first volume of Sol Bianca ... It was all right, but the plot is somewhat unclear and character designs don't really click with me. The thing with the month names is cute, though.
Saber Marionette J is funny, but not something that'd become a favorite. I think the best part of the show is Hanagata Mitsurugi, despite the fact that everyone seems to hate him. Call me crazy, but I think it's the blatant yaoi angle. >D But it's absolutely hilarious -- Koyasu has way too much fun with his job. (Aburatsubo from Mahou Tsukai Tai! has got Hanagata beat, though. >D)
And speaking of seiyuu -- it's rather jarring to hear Hayashibara as both Faye and Lime in the same night. ^_^;
What else? Oh, yes. Arigatou, Neechan!! It's so cool to have a sister who attends college in Seattle. >D
And here's a bit of fun: Send someone virtual sushi. ^_^;

"Watashi no Tamagoyaki," Dragon Half
Jaan! It's Friday! >D And I'm tired, sniffly, and sore all over ... O_o
Things are finally starting to get resolved in All My Children ... Yes, I watch soap operas; wanna make something of it? ¬.¬ It's just something to indulge in (and laugh at, and wonder at the degeneration of the female gender ... *cough*). But General Hospital is actually interesting me more right now, because there's an actual coherent plot -- gangsters, intrigue, decent love stories (as in, the women aren't acting like desperate hoes. >D Well, except for Carly.)
Anyone want to listen to my love woes? (No? ^_^;;) Just ... how do you tell a friend you're not interested if you've already told him but you think he either didn't get the message or changed his mind and you're currently being egged on by a number of people who you thought were clear on the subject??
*cough* Anyhoo ...
*_* I want. (But what's up with little kiddy Soujirou?)
I need a love interest. I need someone to ask to Tolo, if only to make it clear who I wasn't asking to Tolo. O_o
Hey there, sexy. (Van, not Hitomi. :p)
I doubt I'd be able to do it, though. I'm such a pansy when it comes to guys ...
Yes, I'm easily distracted.
You know what? I think Di Gi Charat hentai is just wrong. @_@

"Seasons," Hamasaki Ayumi
Happy Sweet Sixteenth to Lili-chan! ^o^
Here's my quandary of the day: Our assignment in English is to write a narrative essay about the moral dilemma of being forced to "commit an extremely difficult or distasteful deed." O_o I, erm, haven't really had experience with that, you know? At least, not on the level of George Orwell's "Shooting an Elephant," which is what this assignment was based on. ^_^; I have about half an hour before I have to go to bed ... Dou~shiyo~??
Well, my English teacher did say it could be fictionalized ... but I don't know how she'd like what I would do with that. "Daily he struggled with the dichotomy of his noble intentions and the blood on his hands as he sought to usher in the new era by means of his 'tenchuu' ..." >D
Saw Thirteen Days today with my AP History class. My friend and I were in a strange mood and kept giggling at the strangest things, like President Kennedy's first appearance. The newspaper covered the face to build up suspense, and then was lowered to reveal ... a nondescript man in a suit! ^_^;; Bruce Greenwood just didn't look all that much like JFK. But he did a good job acting; I loved his accent. ("I was eating that ... BAH-staad." >D) But it was really good -- especially because it managed to both inform and entertain, without sex and with minimal violence. ^_^;; Although I still liked Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon better ...
I'm sore. @_@ We did a Tae Bo video in aerobics today and I ache. ^_^;; *sigh* Well, I have to go do my English assignment, now. I think I'll go with Kenshin, after all. :P

"Seasons of Love," RENT
Woohoo! Ren'ai's blog is up. And it's got wonderful bishie boyz from Ayashi no Ceres. >D
I finally finished tweaking with the layout. I even tested it in other resolutions, and it's okay -- it actually looks good in Netscape, too! o_o Actually, any res higher than 800x600 leaves a big blank space in the upper right corner. x_x But that's okay; the whole right side looks sort of off, anyway. ^_^;
Question: How can people function in 1024x768? Everything looks so small and faraway to me. ^_^;;;
Question deux: Why don't hover commands work in Netscape?? ;_;
Oh, and I found out today that I got voted Most Likely to Win a Nobel Prize by my class. O_o For what, I wonder?
*sigh* I talk too much about myself, ne? Methinks I should join Meepo Cow. >D
Maa, I think that's enough. I've got to try to get to bed early tonight. ^_^;

"Kuuki to Hoshi," Sakamoto Maaya
The way I see it, this blog will be like my Soapbox -- only I don't have to pretend to have a point, and I can be as offensive as I wanna be. >D Just kidding; I'm too much of a pansy to be that rude.
I just want to talk. That's what this blog is for. Plus, I can now experiment with layouts without having to redesign an entire site. ^_^v
Well, more later. It's dinner time. >D
Jaa ne, minna!
